Not Done Yet!
We need to rally again for May 20, when the Assembly will reconsider the Community Recycling Initiatives ordinance, which will put recycling in all 95 public schools, build new drop-off centers, and place recycling bins in public places- at an estimated cost of only a dollar and change per household garbage bill. These aspects are also critical to the success of recycling in Anchorage, because new drop-off centers generate volume, and provide recycling access to neighborhoods where curbside is not yet available- including Hillside, Muldoon, and Eagle River. Safe Neighborhoods/Wild Bears
Safe Neighborhoods/Wild Bears needs volunteers to help out with a summer campaign. We want to reduce bears’ association with food and humans and thus reduce the lethal consequence of bears being killed.
