Alaska Center for the Environment recognizes your right to privacy and pledges to protect it.

Information collected

When visiting our web site, our web server automatically logs (records) domain name and standard information about the operating system and web browser you are using, as provided by your web browser. This information is used for statistical purposes to help us manage our site, but it does not identify you in any way.

We collect personal information about you only if you volunteer it in "on site" registrations and/or make a donation. We may use this information to contact you for support purposes and to answer questions you submit to the site. All information is kept confidential.

E-mail addresses

We collect email addresses so that we may send email news briefings in the future. We use these email addresses only to distribute our electronic news updates. Alaska Center for the Environment never sells, rents, or lends e-mail addresses of users to anyone.

Registered subscribers can remove their names from our subscriber list at any time by following instructions included at the bottom of each email message.

E-mail addresses that we collect through forms on the site are used to provide that service and occasionally to announce new material on our website that may be of interest to our readers. We do not share these email addresses with anyone.

Postal address mailing lists

Sometimes ACE exchanges its postal mailing list (but never e-mail addresses) with other organizations of similar mission for fundraising purposes. Please contact the membership department at 274-3621 if you wish to opt-out of these mailings.

Donation information

ACE makes donations easy for you on our membership webpage. The website supports authentication for the page you are viewing when making a donation.  The identity of the website has been verified by Verisign, Inc.

The page you view while processing payment is encrypted before being transmitted over the Internet.  Encryption makes it very difficult for unauthorized people to view information traveling between computers.  It is therefore very unlikely that anyone reads the page as it travels across the network.

We maintain records of all contributions to ACE. All information is kept private and confidential, stored in a secure location and accessible only by authorized staff.
