Aluminum
  • Cut down on beverages packaged in aluminum.
  • Clean and re-use aluminum foil, pie plates, etc.
  • Aluminum cans. Separate from other types of Aluminum.
  • Other: foil, pie plates, TV dinner trays, window frames screen doors, lawn furniture.
  • Cans should be clean.
  • Remove non-aluminum material from lawn chairs, and other items.

  • Schools-call them for information.
  • Twenty cans can be made out of recycled aluminum with the same energy & pollution to make one can from new material.
  • Re-use/recycling creates jobs in the U.S. & reduces need to import raw materials.
  • Donating cans to schools will help raise money for equipment and projects. (Call Anchorage Recycling Center for details)

  • Rent or borrow items not used on a regular basis instead of buying them.
  • Buy from metal recyclers, thrift shops, etc.
