  • Keep tires properly inflated so they will last longer. (Also increases fuel efficiency.)
  • Rotate tires when necessary.
  • Front-end alignments and good shocks/struts are beneficial.
  • Have tires retreaded.
  • Re-use tires for planters.
  • Use for boat bumpers.
  • All tires.
  • Reuse those lawn tractor, trailer, motorcycle and bicycle innertubes for toys and games.

Innertube Recycling:

  • Eight-ten tires fill one cubic yard of landfill space.
  • Approx. 200,000 tires enter the MOA landfill annually. (approx. 22,000 cu. yds)
  • Tires can be chipped for fuel, backfill, roadbeds, thermo barriers, septic filtration systems, bike trails, running tracks and playgrounds.
  • In 1996 Alaska Tire Recycling, Inc. diverted approx. 36,000 tires (4,000 cubic yards) from entering the MOA landfill.
