Smart Streetlight Demonstration and Tour
Join Mayor Mark Begich in a demonstration of Anchorage’s new smart streetlight system. The live demonstration will illustrate the value of managed streetlights from economic, environmental, and quality of life perspectives, supported by real-time data. Anchorage residents are invited to attend the streetlight tour and provide feedback regarding the quality and color of the lighting solution.
Public Hearing on AMATS Public Participation Plan
The Planning and Zoning Commission for the Alaska Metropolitan Area Transportation (AMATS) needs to hear from you. The AMATS Public Participation Plan is up for a second round of review, and they need to know how to better involve the public in future transportation projects.
Anchorage Outdoor City Lights Survey
The City of Anchorage needs your input and participation the evening of December 4th at the Loussac Library. National lighting experts will be guiding local residents through a controlled study to evaluate sample roadway lighting installations. The results will directly influence the future of outdoor lighting in Anchorage, and perhaps the country at large.
